Kristine Cerbule started in her position August 2021 and has mainly worked with gillnet and longline fisheries in Norway, Denmark and Croatia. The research focus has been to compare fishing efficiency of ordinary nylon with new and bio-degradable materials and to quantify plastic pollution from longline fisheries.
The trial lecture was titled “A critical assessment of fisher uptake of biodegradable fishing gear” and the title of the thesis is “Use of biodegradable plastic materials in gillnet and longline fisheries”.
