The Directorate of Fisheries’ Gear Retrieval Operation Live at Nor-Fishing

This year, you can follow the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries’ operation to retrieve lost fishing gear live during Nor-Fishing, 18–20 August, according to Norges Sildesalgslag.

In addition to daily live broadcasts from the operation during the exhibition, users will be able to follow the planned clean-up areas of the retrieval vessel Vikingbank through the testing of a new solution in BarentsWatch/FiskInfo.

The new solution is being tested with the aim of improving coordination and cooperation between the clean-up operation and ongoing fishing activities.

This year’s retrieval operation will prioritise fishing grounds between Runde and Kirkenes, with a particular focus on lost snow crab pots.
